I heard an interview on the radio this morning (760 WJR) with 6 year old Denver J., a little boy who is fighting Leukemia. Denver recently had a fundraiser in his honor, to raise money to send him to Disney World. However, Denver decided instead to donate the money to the Van Buren volunteer fire department, "because they need new equipment". The firemen are his heroes.

It is inscrutable why God allows children to suffer, but one explanation I have heard is that it is to teach us adults important lessons, and to give us an opportunity to do good.
